Streets of Rage

Streets of Rage is a side scrolling beat 'em up for one or two players. This series saw three releases for the Genesis, and no sequels thereafter.

It is rumored that a new Streets of Rage game was being developed for the Sega Dreamcast. The prototype was rejected, and along with the fast fading future of the Dreamcast console, went the hopes of producing that game.

A few years ago another prototype surfaced, this one made by a 3rd party developer. It is rumored that this too was rejected. At this point in time, it seems there is no life in the Streets of Rage series. Let's hope this changes and Sega sees potential in bringing this franchise back.

If we can collect 100 supportive comments, we will send a link to this page to Sega as a petition of sorts. And then again at 500, and 1,000 comments. Even a PSN and Xbox Live Arcade game would be better than nothing, and a lower risk for Sega. Other older games have been brought back this way in the past few years. Please comment below.

Streets of Rage came onto the video game scene in 1992. It was known for its intense action and fresh techno soundtrack.

The sequel was just as action-packed as the first game. It incorporated new moves and new characters.

The third and final game in the series. Here's hoping for a series reboot someday.
